A Ukrainian with a forged passport was detained on the border

Last night, officers of the Chop detachment prevented the attempt of illegal border crossing by our compatriot, who was returning from Portugal via the checkpoint "Tisa". During the border control of a minibus Volkswagen, law enforcement officers found out that one of the documents presented did not conform to the requirements. During the in-depth inspection, the border guards found out that a Portuguese citizen’s passport was different in size, manufacturing method and lack of protective elements. These signs indicated that the passport was forged and obtained illegally.

So, the bearer of the forged document was detained. During the interview and drafting of the relevant procedural documents, the man admitted that he also has the passport of a citizen of Ukraine. For the committed offense, our compatriot was brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses "Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine".

In addition, the information about the revealed offense was sent to the National Police for registration in the URPI as a criminal offense under Article 358 of the Criminal Code "Counterfeiting of documents, seals, stamps and forms, their sale, use of counterfeit documents".
