Today, December 16, at half past four in the morning, a car "SEAT MALAGA", driven by a citizen of Ukraine heading from Ukraine to Romania arrived to the customs post "Ďakovo" of the Chop Customs.
The citizen chose the "green corridor" for customs clearance. While talking with the customs inspector, the Ukrainian said that was not hiding anything and had no goods or items prohibited for moving across the state border. However, customs officers decided to sent the car from the "green" to the "red corridor" for an in-depth customs inspection of the vehicle and the citizen’s personal belongings.
As a result, after dismantling the rear seat and decorative plating of the vehicle luggage compartment, they found in a specially made cache (double bottom) undeclared and concealed from customs control tobacco products. In particular, those were domestically produced cigarettes with excise stamps of Ukraine "Rothmans Super Slims" and "Rothmans Demi" – 500 packs each, and 10 packs of "KENT". The cost of the tobacco products according to the price specified on the packaging is almost 14,000 UAH.
Thus, the citizen committed the act to move the goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control using means and ways that complicate the identification of such goods. Currently, the tobacco products and the vehicle are seized until the final judgment.
