A cache with tobacco products was found last night at the checkpoint "Luzhanka" by border guards of the Mukachevo Detachment. A 29-year-old citizen of Ukraine tried to smuggle cigarettes to neighboring Hungary.
The man was heading to Hungary by a car "Citroen". During the customs control of this car, a sniffer dog trained to detect tobacco gave a signal. When performing in-depth inspection of the car, border guards together with customs officers found almost 2,000 packs of cigarettes "Rotmans"and more than 400 packs of cigarettes "Glamor". The man tried to hide the cigarettes by fitting his car with a double bottom.
Currently, the car that was used as a means of smuggling was seized according to the law. The total value of the cigarettes is almost 50,000 UAH.
In total, yesterday, Border Guard Service officers stopped at checkpoints 7 more attempts of cigarettes smuggling.
