At the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs office, an attempt to import into Ukraine fashion apparel without a declaration was prevented.

A citizen of Ukraine following from Italy to Ukraine arrived at the customs post by a car "RENAULT TRAFIC" with Ukrainian registration. She chose the "red corridor" for customs control.  Customs officers asked her to fill out a customs declaration, in which she indicated her passport data, and the presence of the luggage with personal items.

During the oral questioning, the citizen confirmed the information provided by her in the customs declaration, and denied carrying any other goods, including those prohibited or restricted for trasportation across the customs border of Ukraine.

During the customs control of the woman’s vehicle and belongings, in addition to the declared personal effects, customs officers found the goods that were not indicated in the customs declaration and not declared during the oral survey, namely foreign footwear of different brands, different models, sizes and colors in total amount of 43 pairs, men’s and women’s clothes of different brands, sizes and colors in total amount of 6 pieces and two handbags "LOUIS VUITTON".

The found goods were among the personal belongings of the citizen, access to it was not hindered, but the citizen did not recognize it as her property. She said that an unknown man had asked her to deliver the goods to Ukraine.

The value of some of the goods according to the labels on the package is 176,239 UAH, the determination of the value of the rest of the products requires additional evaluation with the assistance of sexperts.

Thus, the citizen of Ukraine failed to provide accurate and true information about the goods being moved across the customs border, that are not personal belongings and are subject to a written declaration.

These actions have signs of violation of customs rules under Article 472 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, under the report of violation of customs rules, the goods being direct objects of the violation of customs rules were confiscated.
