An attempted illegal export of tobacco products to the EU was stopped at the customs post "Tisa" of the Transcarpathian customs. A citizen of Ukraine tried to move cigarettes across the customs border.
The Ukrainian heading in private business to Italy by a car "Mercedes-Benz" and chose the "red corridor" for customs control. During the oral questioning, the citizen denied having any goods other than declared, and said that was not moving any goods hidden from customs control.
However, based on analysis and risk assessment, officers of the Transcarpathian customs office took the vehicle out of the general flow for customs inspection.
Thus, under a decorative lining of the car ceiling around the perimeter of the vehicle, they found hidden cigarettes "MARLBORO" with excise stamps of Ukraine in total amount of 677 packs. The cigarettes were in a specially manufactured cache.
Thus, the Ukrainian committed actions aimed at moving across the customs border of Ukraine tobacco products concealed from customs control, ie, using specially manufactured caches.
These actions have signs of customs rules violation under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
Currently, the report on violation of customs regulations was made, the cigarettes worth more than 17,600 UAH and the car worth almost 229,000 UAH were seized.
