A Ukrainian lost his car CITROËN because of a tobacco cache under the bumper

An attempt of smuggling of 694 packages of cigarettes "JIN LING" was attempted at the customs post "Uzhgorod" of the Transcarpathian Customs.

A Ukrainian – the driver of a car CITROËN with a foreign registration – tried to illegally carry tobacco products to Slovakia through the "green corridor".

During the customs control, customs officers suspected that he was moving goods concealed from customs control. Hence, the car was removed from the general queue for in-depth inspection. During the inspection, 694 packs of cigarettes without excise stamps of Ukraine were found in a specially made cache under a bumper.

Thus, the citizen committed the act to move the goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control using means and ways that complicate the identification of such goods. The report on violation of customs rules was made. The tobacco products and the vehicle were confiscated.

The case will be referred to the court, which will determine the punishment.
