A Ukrainian lost 700,000 UAH worth of “Sambuka”

Yesterday, January 14, 2015, employees of the operational department of the Main Office of the SFS in Transcarpathian region received the information about illegal storage of liquors in a warehouse on one of Uzhgorod streets.

Employees of the operational team immediately arrived to the warehouse and found there 3,500 bottles of "Liquore Fenissimo – Sicilia, Duty Free (Sambuka)" made in Germany without excise stamps of Ukraine and documents confirming their origin, estimated cost of which was 700,000 UAH. Also it was found out that the warehouses, where the alcohol was stored, belong to an enterprise of the regional center and were rented by a resident of one of the villages in Uzhgorod district.

It is this citizen who organized illegal storage of luxury imported alcoholic beverages for the purpose of further sales in Ukraine.

The same day, the Financial Investigation Department of the Main Office of the SFS in Transcarpathian region registered in the Unified register of pre-trial investigations the information under Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code Ukraine over the illegal storage and transportation of illegally manufactured excisable goods with intent to sell.

Currently, the priority investigative procedures are being carried out, the circle of persons involved in the commission of the criminal offense are being established.
