A Transcarpathian, who offered a $ 400 bribe to a border guard, was detained

Yesterday evening, in the city of Chop, Transcarpathian region, a local resident of Uzhgorod district was arrested by the joint interagency group consisting of the internal security officers of the "West" Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the investigation department of the Security Service of Ukraine office in Transcarpathian region under the procedural control of the military prosecutor’s office of the Uzhgorod garrison. The person was detained in the course of a criminal proceeding under Part 3 of Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Offer, promise or granting of unlawful benefit to an official".

The Transcarpathian tried to engage a border guard of the Chop detachment in illegal activities.

The joint interagency group recorded the transfer of the illegal benefit in the amount of $ 400 to a serviceman of the "Salovka" border service guard department of the Chop detachment. The money was intended to facilitate the illegal transportation of tobacco products across the state border. The border guard refused to take the bribe and reported the bribery attempt to the management.
