The incident took place last night at the checkpoint Maly Berezny-Ubl’a on the border with Slovakia.
Before going to work abroad, a resident of Kushnytsia, Irshava district, took a mandatory PCR test.
At the checkpoint on the Ukrainian side, the man’s documents were checked. And Slovak colleagues having checked the certificate with the results of coronavirus test found out that the result was positive.
It turned out that the man misunderstood the test results. He thought that a positive result meant that everything was fine and he did not have the virus.
In the end, he was taken from the checkpoint by an ambulance. And the whole shift of border guards (4 people) were sent to self-isolation – this was reported to our publication by the Chop border guard detachment.
Currently, the man’s condition is stable, he is in Uzhgorod hospital. Border guards who have been in contact with him so far have no symptoms of the disease.
However, the question remains why didn’t the doctors who issued the certificate to the man inform him of the results and take precautionary measures?
