A Transcarpathian trafficker of illegal immigrants was extradited to Ukraine

A resident of Transcarpathia, who in 2013, as a member of a criminal group, was trafficking illegal migrants across the state border, was extradited to Ukraine in late May this year

In May 2013, members of the organized group were caught by officers of the Security Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region. To avoid liability, one of traffickers, after making of bail, for a long time was hiding from the investigation and was put on the international wanted list.

On May 30 this year, the court imposed on him a pre-trial restraint – detention. The pretrial investigation continues.

In late 2015, Uzhgorod City and District Court convicted the organizer of the criminal group under Part 3 of Art. 332 (trafficking of persons across the state border of Ukraine committed by an organized group for financial gain) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced to three years imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Another accomplice, who also was in the international wanted list, is waiting for extradition to Ukraine
