A Transcarpathian shot himself in the stomach while reloading air rifle

A pensioner from the village of Bobovyshche in Mukachevo district filed a complaint with the Mukachevo Police Department. According to her words, she was threatened with weapon by her grandson. When the investigative team came to the village, they seized a pneumatic gun from a 26-year-old suspect. Although such weapons could not kill people, the defendant in the case is still likely to be held responsible. Police consider instituting a criminal prosecution according to Art.129 of the Criminal Code (threat of murder).

A resident of the village of Zabrid in Khust district himself suffered from a similar weapon. Playing in the yard with an air rifle the man accidentally pulled the trigger while reloading and a metal pellet caught him in the stomach. The victim sought medical help in the district hospital, where he was diagnosed with abdominal gunshot wounds and hospitalized in the surgical ward – said the Department of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region.
