A Transcarpathian on the “Mercedes” rammed a police car

On January 1, traffic police officers arrested an offender driver, who, trying to escape, had run into policemen.

As the PR Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported to UNIAN, a unit of the traffic police patrol service, while being on patrol route in the village of Cherniyiv, tried to stop the driver of a "Mercedes-Benz E-270", who was exceeding the allowed speed. The driver did not react to the request to stop. Law enforcement officers chased the man, but he continued to ignore requests to stop.

Traffic police officers reported the situation to the traffic police office and called for reinforcements.

In the city of Yaremcha, traffic policemen blocked the road before "Mercedes-Benz". However, this did not stop the offender either.  As a result of the incident, two police officers suffered injuries, and the police car was damaged.

Finally, the offender was arrested. It was a 21-year-old resident of Transcarpathian region. His car was delivered to the impound lot. The man was taken to the prosecutor’s office in Yaremcha, the issue of his detention under Art.208 of the CPC of Ukraine is being decided. An investigation into this incident is being conducted.
