A tourist was attacked by rapists in the forest

Officers of Rakhiv police arrested three residents of the village of Yasinya who had robbed a tourist from Kyiv and tried to rape her.

Near the village of Yasinya in Rakhiv district, three local residents attacked a 29-year-old resident of Kyiv, who had come to the mountains on vacation and was going to meet her tourist group. The girl had to walk alone 5 km to the place where a group of friends was waiting for her. However, in the forest between the village and the valley, she came across three locals who were riding on a cart in a state of extreme intoxication. Seeing a defenseless girl, two men tried to rape her. The victim was fighting the attackers for half an hour, during which time the third man seized her phone and money. The attackers threatened the girl with murder, used physical force against her, but did not actually rape her.

The girl ran away from the offenders and found our that her friends had photographed the cart with the drunk locals before the attack. The photos were shown to the police officers, so the police quickly found the men.

The attackers were detained, they were notified of being suspected of a crime, pre-trial restraint in the form of detention was imposed on them. The criminal proceeding under Part 3 of Article 15 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 3 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (attempted rape) was initiated against two of them. The offenders face imprisonment for seven to twelve years. The third one was notified of being suspected of a crime under Part 2 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery). It is punishable by imprisonment for a term of four to six years.
