A street drug dealer was detained in Uzhgorod

Officers of drug crime department of Transcarpathian regional police together with investigators of Uzhgorod district police department conducted a controlled buy and detained a criminal for the sale of hard drugs

Yesterday, April 5, late at night, Transcarpathian police officers conducted in Uzhgorod a controlled buy of drugs and arrested a woman who was involved in the crime. Methamphetamine was sold by a 27-year-old resident of Uzhgorod.

The suspect was arrested according to Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and put in a temporary holding facility. The money and the drugs were seized and sent for examination. Criminal proceeding over this incident was initiated under Part 1 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is unlawful production, manufacture, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances or their analogues. Such offenses are punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to eight years.

Now investigators are preparing a request to the court to impose on the drug dealer a pretrial restraint in the form of detention. The pre-trial investigation continues.
