A song about Vynogradiv was performed in Hungary (PHOTO)

Vynogradiv musicians made a creative visit to the traditional festival of winegrowers and winemakers "New wine" ("Uj bor") in Baja (Hungary).  The trip took place at the invitation of the organizers of the festival, Consul of the Hungarian Consulate in Beregovo Laszlo Forogos and with the support of Vynogradiv City Council.

The visit of the amateur orchestra of folk instruments of the City House of Culture (director – Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Viktor Marushka) and amateur women folk vocal quartet (director – Svitlana Hnetylo) was made possible thanks to the target program.  Also, Vynogradiv delegation visited the Franz Liszt Music School, where they exchanged experiences with Hungarian colleagues.

  Member of the amateur women folk vocal quartet, director of Vynogradiv Children’s School of Arts Natalia Krasnay-Sorvodi shared her impressions of the participation in the festival:

– Accompanied by the military brass band, the festive procession in national costumes marched from Baja main square to Petofi Island where the main event of the holiday took place.  At the stage, the mayor of Baja made a speech, the best wineries and producers of honey were awarded. During the festival, the meeting of the Hungarian publishers of the "Beekeeping" magazines took place.  In the hall of the tourist center, the exhibition "Bácska kincse" took place.  Best winemakers of the region presented samples of wine products for tasting commission, the top ten of which were awarded with diplomas of the festival. The exhibition and sale of wine and honey products, arts and crafts, contests and entertainment took place on the square.        

  Two Transcarpathian groups performed at the concert.  They began their performance with the trademark song of our city – "Song about Vynogradiv" by Ivan Bacskay and Stepan Zhupanyn. Pieces by Ukrainian composers, Hungarian and Italian classical and neoclassical compositions were also performed.
