An attempt of cigarette smuggling across the border was prevented last night by servicemen of the border guard service department "Dilove" together with officers of the Mukachevo detachment‘s operational and search department.
During the verification of operational information on possible illegal activities, the border guards detained near the border a 23-year-old resident of the village of Dilove, who along with his accomplices tried to move tobacco products to neighboring Romania. The other offenders fled.
While inspecting the area, border guards found 9 packages containing 4480 packs of cigarettes without excise stamps.
To carry out filtration measures and draw up administrative procedural documents under Part 1 of Art. 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, the detained Ukrainian was taken to the border guard unit. The tobacco products were delivered to the border guard unit, later they will be handed over to the SFS officers
