At the customs post "Luzhanka", Transcarpathian customs officers found contraband cigarettes in an "Opel": 1,600 packs of domestically made cigarettes with excise stamps of Ukraine were hidden in structural cavities and the wheels of the car.
The customs officials knew about the attempt to move contraband excise goods in advance, so when the citizen arrived at the customs post and chose the "green corridor" for customs control, they invited the driver to the box for in-depth inspection.
As a result of the inspection, they found hidden domestically produced cigarettes "Pryluky" and "Rothmans".
These actions of the citizen are classified on the basis of Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, namely transportation or actions aimed at transportation of goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control, ie using specially manufactured caches and other means or methods impeding detection of such goods.
Currently. the report on violation of customs regulations has been drawn up. Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the goods being the direct objects of the violation of customs regulations, i.e. cigarettes worth more than 17,700 UAH, and the car worth 36,600 UAH were seized.
