Today, January 20, members of the City Council met at the extraordinary session. The agenda includes only one issue: nutrition program for students and pupils of kindergartens in Uzhgorod.
First, they discussed the issue, at the request of the deputies, the head of the city department of education Oksana Babunych explained the situation. She reminded that on December 25 the Verkhovna Rada had amended two laws relating to catering for schoolchildren and preschoolers. These amendments were received on January 5, and on behalf of the Deputy Mayor of Uzhgorod Istvan Tsap, a program to allocate funds to provide meals for children developed.
Then, 27 deputies registered in the hall and began considering the issue. The program was supported unanimously by 28 deputies. The Mayor Bogdan Andriyiv thanked the deputies for having voted for it, because the problem of meals for children is very important.- the City Council informed.
