A serviceman of the Chop border guard detachment was caught on UAH 10 thousand bribe

On March 20, 2019, under the procedural control of the military prosecutor’s office of the Uzhgorod Garrison, the investigators of the Territorial Office of the State Investigation Bureau located in the city of Lviv, in cooperation with the department of internal security for the Chop border guard detachment, documented the fact of extortion and reception of illegal benefit by the inspector of the border guard service – the head of the cynological group of the border guard service department "Novoselytsia" of the Chop border guard detachment.

The bribe of UAH 10,000 from a dog trainer of another department of the Border Guard Service was intended for assistance in the transfer of the latter to a new place of service – Lutsk border guard detachment.

The second part of the sum – UAH 6,000 – was found and seized during the inspection of the scene. The officer was detained.

At present, top-priority investigative activities are being conducted. Based on their results, the border guard will be indicted and a request to impose a pre-trial restraint will be filed with the court.
