Recently, at the Transcarpathian border the number of customs offenses related to illegal operations with prestige cars, that foreigners import to Ukraine for resale without paying the required taxes, have somewhat increased.
Recently, a 36-year old Romanian citizen, who crossed the Ukrainian-Hungarian border by car "BMW 560L", was added to the list of such violators. During the customs control at crossing point "Vylok" officers of the service to combat smuggling and customs violations of Chop Customs using the information obtained from the Unified Automated Information System found out that the driver had imported into the territory of Ukraine two foreign cars and disposed of them without the permission of the customs authority.
In mid-September, the Romanian imported a foreign car "Audi A4" through the checkpoint "Tisa" and handed it over to other people for remuneration. At the end of the month the smart man imported across the Ukrainian-Romanian border a SUV "BMW X5" with French lisence plates and also gave the car at disposal and use of third parties in the village of Solotvyno for remuneration.
So, for the disposal of the cars without permission of the customs authority Chop inspectors wrote two protocols against the citizen of Romania under Article 469, Part 2 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
Following the court decision the foreigner will have to pay fine for every car in the amount of 500 minimum incomes – informed Victoria Senhetovska, spokeswoman of Chop customs.
