A foreigner who tried to cross the border illegally near the village of Huta, Uzhgorod district, was detained at midnight yesterday by servicemen of the Chop detachment. The stranger in the woods was found by a border patrol from the department "Uzhgorod". He did not have any documents with him and said he was a Romanian citizen. The detainee could not explain where his passport was, but said he intended to go to Germany, where he allegedly lives.
In order to establish the circumstances of the offense, the foreigner was taken to the temporary detention center of the Chop border guard detachment. After identification, he will be brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses "Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine."
