Yesterday, border guards of the Mukachevo Detachment once again prevented transportation of contraband cigarettes across the state border. This time, a citizen Romania tried to carry counterfeit cigarettes to the EU.
He arrived at the checkpoint "Dyakove" on the Ukrainian-Romanian border by his own passenger car "Volkswagen". During the inspection of the vehicle, the border guard service inspector suspected that some goods banned for transportation across the state border could be hidden in the vehicle. Indeed, during the joint in-depth border and customs control, a cache was found in the fuel tank of the car. It contained 200 packs of cigarettes "Kent".
The amount of the seized goods was more than four and a half thousand hryvnia. And the violator lost his car, which was estimated at almost 28 thousand hryvnia.
