Yesterday in the afternoon, border guards of the Chop detachment detained a 43-year-old Ukrainian who was trying to reach EU countries outside the checkpoints.
The stranger was found by a border patrol from the department "Uzhgorod". The man was stopped by the border guards just 10 meters from the state border.
The detainee was carrying a passport. He was a resident of Kyiv region. During the interrogation, the man explained to the border guards that he was out of work and intended to find it abroad. Knowing that Slovakia had restricted the entry of foreigners into its territory, he decided to cross the border illegally.
The offender was detained in accordance with the administrative procedure. He will be tried for trying to cross the state border illegally.
