A dismal incident occurred in the village of Kraynya Martynka in Irshava. An 83-year-old woman, despite an advanced age, kept the household all by herself with a small pension. Her 42-year-old grandson, who did not work and often abused alcohol, lived with her. Once, while being as usual pretty drunk, he went to the grandmother to ask for money. The old lady would not give him money for vodka. This angered the man, and he began to thrash the old woman. Then, he forcibly took UAH 100 from the victim.
The old lady long hesitated whether to go to the police or not. A few days later she came to the district inspector of Irshava District Police Oleksandr Kanchiy and told everything.
The district inspector with the Criminal Investigation Department detective Mykhailo Sukhan were looking for the bully for a few days, but he would not come to his grandmother. Finally, the abuser turned up in the village and was arrested by the police officers.
By the way, in 2011, the 42-year-old offender was tried for the theft of 450 UAH.
The criminal proceeding over this fact has been opened (Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery), and submitted to the court.
