A “RENAULT” packed with cigarettes was stopped at the Transcarpathian customs office

Today, February 9, 2017, at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod", Transcarpathian customs officers caught a Ukrainian trying to smuggle cigarettes to Slovakia. The citizen drove to the "green corridor" lane by a car "RENAULT" with Ukrainian registration number.

Thanks to efficient analytical work and available information about possible violations of customs laws by the citizen of Ukraine, experts of the department to combat customs offenses of the Transcarpathian customs office sent the vehicle for in-depth inspection.

Before the in-depth inspection, the citizen of Ukraine was questioned, during which he denied carrying goods and items prohibited or restricted for export from the customs territory of Ukraine and hidden from customs control.

Thus, during the inspection of the vehicle, Transcarpathian customs officers together with border guards found in specially made recesses a total of 3,522 packs of cigarettes "ROTHMANS", "MARLBORO" and "KENT" with excise stamps Ukraine hidden from customs control.

Currently, a report on violation of customs rules has been drawn up, the actions of the citizen are classified under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, under the report on violation of customs rules, the tobacco products worth 70,000 UAH and the vehicle estimated at more than 150,000 UAH were confiscated.
