Since the beginning of the year, the police officers of the line department at the Uzhgorod station have received two reports about thefts on the railway line. The criminal proceedings over these facts have been opened under Article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The first incident happened in February, at Strumkivka station where transport police officers detected a theft of 4 connectors and 4 cables a total length of 25 m. Another fact was recorded recently on March 5, on the stretch "Uzhgorod 2 – Pavlovo 2" where a cable MKPaB 7×4 was damaged.
Later, law enforcement officers conducted search operations and identified the person who had committed those thefts. This crime was committed by a 16-year-old boy, a resident of Uzhgorod district. The boy confessed to the crime, and voluntarily gave out the evidence.
