The body of a man was found in the Uzh river in Perechyn, the "Dezhivo" tract, the Recue Service in Transcarpathian region informed. Rescuers were reported about it yesterday, August 6, at 16:20.
At 18:20, divers extracted the body from the river and handed it over to law enforcement officers. The victim is being identified.
According to the rescuers, from the beginning of the year to August 1, 29 people died in the bodies of waters in Transcarpathia – this is one person more than that during the whole past year. Since then, three more victims have been added to this number. A 31-year-old man drowned in a pool of a tourist complex in the village of Velyatyno in Khust district, and a 40-year-old man drowned in the Uzh river in the regional center.
Among the victims, that have drowned since the beginning of the year, there are five children. The Office of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region appeals to all citizens to follow safety measures during recreation on water.
