Foresters have not yet spoken about the castles of Transcarpathia.
But today, we will talk about one of the heritage of the nation – the ruins of Bronka Castle, which are located far from settlements – in the forests of Irshava district, at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level. And for a reason.
Foresters have been actively developing forest tourism for the last five years, setting up information stands and rest stops, bulding authentic forestry museums and, of course, they cannot ignore such outstanding buildings as castles! Moreover, the landscapes of Irshava and Dovhe state forest farms are striking with 100-year-old beeches, so it is a sin not to develop green tourism!
Bronka Castle is the least known of all the castles in Transcarpathia. The first mention of the fortress dates back to 1273, in the deed of the Hungarian king Laszlo IV, it is said that the castle was taken from the enemies of his father Istvan V.
The ruins of Bronka Castle, which are located in the Bronetska rika tract, can become another tourist destination in Transcarpathia, – tourism expert Fedir Shandor says.
"Sooner or later, the quarantine days will end. And tourists in Transcarpathia are waiting! Today, together with representatives of the Historical Reenactment Club "Order of St. Nicholas", representatives of Dovhe territorial community and foresters, we cleared the trail from old trees. Of course, information boards have been installed. Beautiful views of the Borzhava and Bronka valleys will delight tourists with a new destination and I am sure this place will be a favorite vacation spot in this area," – the tourism expert said.
In turn, the head of Dovhe territorial community Viktor Symkanych noted: "The development of tourism is very important for the development of the communities, including ours. And Bronka Castle is one of such locations. In the state forest farm, there is an information board, which already shows the place and the path that leads to the top of the castle remains."
