Kolochava (Mizhhirya district) and Nimetska Mokra (Tyachiv district) are connected with a newly built forest road about ten kilometers long. Its official opening took place on Sunday, September 18. Now, it is the only motorway connection between two mountain districts of Transcarpathia.
Previously, in order to get to their relatives in Kolochava by car, villagers had to make more than 160-kilometer-long detour. The lion’s share of the construction was carried out by the Regional Forest and Hunting Range Administration and the Sunday "test drive" showed that the work was performed efficiently. Despite the heavy rains, that took place in Kolochava and N. Mokra the day before, vans and passenger cars like Volkswagen Polo drove on the natural soil road without problems.
And, last week, in N. Mokra, the first phase of the construction of an asphalt road was completed.
