The project "1001 World Memories" presents Uzhgorod as the world capital of mini-monuments.
In January last year, a group of enthusiasts, who call themselves the "Secret Ministry of Mini-Monuments", began working in Uzhgorod. A year later, at the end of January this year, they announced a contest of photographs of the mini-sculptures in our city. Anyone could take part in the competition. The group Public Art Factory was created on Facebook, where the contestants sent high-quality and original photos of the famous miniature sculptures that became the true highlight of Uzhgorod.
Then, the commission consisting of artists and designers of the Public Art Factory and the Secret Ministry of Mini-Monuments selected the finalists. In total 36 photos were selected for the photo album. The main criteria for the selection of winners were originality and high quality.
As a result, the main winner of the contest is Serhiy Foros, and he won the main prize – a coffee meeting with Uzhgorod sculptor and the creator of mini-monuments Mykhailo Kolodko. Other winners, whose photographs will also be published in the collection of legends "Uzhgorod – the World Capital of Mini-Monuments", are Victor Opalenyk, Andriy Fogash, Kostyantin Cherkay, Volodymyr Khilya, Illya Popovich and Tetyana Lesko.
Currently, the layout of the publication is under preparation. Each of the photographs will be accompanied by a short legend about the mini-sculpture depicted on it.
Awarding the contest winners will take place at the official presentation of the collection. The exact time and place will be announced later.
