A new novel by Andriy Lyubka will be presented in Uzhgorod (Announcement)

On Tuesday, September 18, at 6:00 pm, the presentation of the new novel by Andriy Lyubka "Your Gaze, Chio Chio San" will be held in the Transcarpathian Regional Universal Scientific Library.

A drunk judge runs over and kills a young woman on a pedestrian crossing and, of course, avoids punishment without much trouble. But the victim’s husband is not the one, who can be bought or intimidated, he wants revenge.

"Your Gaze, Chio Chio San" is a psychological thriller about contemporary Ukraine, where the value of human life is measured in bribes, and murderers are in the first rows at church services. But what does Puccini and the gaze of Madame Butterfly have to do with it? Is the line between good and evil really clear in this novel? Readers will not find answers to the last question until the ending. And maybe even after it.

"I was writing this novel for three long years, – Andriy Lyubka says – along with the hero, I was pursuing his enemy, falling into depression and rejoicing his successes. Why a detective story? To make it more interesting for me to write, and for readers to read."

Illustrations for the book were created by Kyiv artist Alyona Shum.

The presentation in Uzhgorod will be moderated by Yevhenia Napuda.

The admission is free.
