Today, June 4, regional officials met with the Romanian delegation, represented, in particular, by the prefect Anton Rohyan, the Director of External Relations Department of Sziget City Hall Dan Pralya, Consul of the General Consulate of Romania in Chernivtsi Corneliu Chobotaru.
According to the press center of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, during the meeting they talked about the implementation of the old agreement – construction of vehicle bridge over the Tisa river, which will connect the Romanian city of Sziget and Transcarpathian village of Bila Tserkva in Rakhiv district.
The protocol on the need to build the crossing "Bila Tserkva – Sziget" was signed back in 1997. The preliminary bridge construction project, the estimated value of which, according to the Romanian experts, will be more than 10.6 million euros, is ready.
The regional authorities of both regions will send request letters to Foreign Ministries of the two countries, because decisions on the development of the border infrastructure are taken at the national level.
Also during the meeting, the parties decided to establish a working group which will include representatives of the Transcarpathian region and Maramures, for a more detailed study of the project for construction of the checkpoint "Bila Tserkva – Sziget".
