A minivan was stolen from a parking lot in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

A local resident appealed to Uzhgorod police with a statement about the disappearance of a vehicle. The vehicle was found in less than a day. A criminal proceeding over the hijacking was opened

On September 18, a resident of Uzhgorod appealed to the police with a statement about a car-jacking. The man reported that unknown persons had stolen his van Volkswagen LT from a guarded parking lot. 
The police arrived at the scene of crime. The police officers established the circumstances of the crime and identified the persons involved in the theft of the vehicle. 

Investigators opened a criminal proceeding over the theft under Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal appropriation of a motor vehicles). In less than a day, the minibus and the hijackers were found. As it turned out in the course of the investigation, the vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot by two Uzhgorod citizens.

One of them has already been prosecuted for drug crimes.
The investigation continues. The choice of pre-trial restraint against the suspects is currently being decided.
