A minibus with forged identification was detained on Ukrainian-Hungarian border

Illegal import of a vehicle was prevented by the servicemen of the "Tisa" crossing point on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border.

When checking a minibus Mercedes, which arrived yesterday from Italy driven by our countryman, border guards had doubts about the conformity of the vehicle unit numbers to those indicated in the registration documents. Therefore, the border guards decided to inspect the vehicle in depth together with the customs officers. An expert-criminologist of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region was also involved in the inspection. As a result, law enforcement officers found signs of tampering with the identification number. On top of the original body number, a plate with another one was welded. According to the driver, he rented the minibus from a friend who lives in Italy. Law enforcement officers will find out what really happened. Currently, procedural measures are being taken, after which the vehicle will be confiscated, – the press service of the Chop border guard detachment informed.
