A memorial plaque to the killed ATO hero Viktor Afanasyev and a memorial sign to the soldiers, who were killed in the ATO zone, were unveiled in the territory of the Vylok village council.
This was reported by Vynogradiv District State Administration.
The ceremony was attended by district officials, clerics, representatives of community organizations, volunteers and students.
The memorial plaque and the memorial sign to the ATO soldiers were unveiled by the head of the district state administration, the chairman of the Vylok village council, the head of the Transcarpathian regional organization of the All-Ukrainian Union of Veterans. After that, the bishop of Uzhgorod and Transcarpathia of Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate Varsonofiy held a memorial service for the killed ATO participants and consecrated the memorial sign.
The ceremony finished with laying of wreaths to the memorial plaque.
Recall that Victor Afanasyev died on April 29, 2017, during a combat mission near Zaytseve in Donetsk region.
By the decree of the President of Ukraine No. 175/2017 dated July 5, 2017, "for personal courage in the protection of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless performance of military duty", the hero was awarded with the Order "For Courage" of the III degree (posthumously).
