A meeting was held on the consequences of the fire in Uzhgorod dormitory

The Acting Mayor of Uzhgorod, Deputy Mayor Igor Fartushok, together with representatives of the headquarters for emergency situations of Uzhgorod City Council, visited the dormitory of the Uzhgorod Trade and Economic College of the Kyiv National Trade and Economic University on Dekabrysty Street, where a fire occurred yesterday in the first half of the day.

As the rescuers already reported, the information about a fire in one of the rooms on the top floor of the 6-storey building was received at 10:45. More than two dozen residents were evacuated from the building, the fire was completely eliminated at 11:56. People were not hurt, the fire destroyed household property in the room and the ceiling of the building on the area of ​​95 square meters, several rooms on 4-5 floors sufferred considerable damage.

Igor Fartushok held a meeting, which, in addition to the representatives of the operational headquarters, as attended by the manager of the dormitory and his residents. They defined the measures to be taken without delay, made an agreement with the head of the 1st state fire and rescue unit of the State Emergencies Service Office in Transcarpathian region Vasyl Varha that firefighters today will temporarily close the gap in the ceiling with a film to prevent destruction of the building due to precipitation. The manager of the dormitory assured Igor Ivanovich that she would take measures to repair the building.
