"Law enforcement officers established that a 35-year-old resident of the village of Kushnytsia, Irshava district, had illegally cut down trees outside the village and then loaded timber on a truck. In addition, the man reacted aggressively to the forester’s remarks, threatened to kill him and flatly refused to leave the cut down logs," – the spokeswoman said.
The man was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility. Criminal proceedings have been instituted over threat or violence against a forestry worker and illegal logging. The man faces up to three years in prison for the crime.
