A man tried to bring narcotic substance from Hungary to Ukraine

Last night, at the border crossing point "Tisa", the border guards of the Chop detachment together with the customs authorities prevented an attempt to illegally move drugs across the border.

During the inspection of a car Volkswagen Touran with Romanian registration, which was entering Ukraine, law enforcement officers had suspicions about the possible transportation of goods and items hidden from border customs control. So, they decided to inspect the vehicle in-depth with a sniffer dog. During the inspection, the dog trained to search for narcotic substances pointed at the interior of the car. Subsequently, border guards found in the arm rest a plastic bag with a gray-green substance of vegetable origin.

Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police were immediately notified about the incident. By conducting a preliminary rapid analysis, it was found out that the bag contained a cannabis type drug. A 28-year-old citizen of Hungary tried to carry it across the border.

The found polyethylene bag and the vehicle made in 2014 were seized by investigator of the Security Service of Ukraine. The driver was accompanied by officer of the Security Service to Uzhgorod for further investigation.
