According to the Prosecutor’s Office of Transcarpathian region, today, in the administrative building of the Mukachevo City and District Court, law enforcement officers arrested the head of the legal department of the Pension Fund of the city of Mukachevo and a judge of the Mukachevo and City District Court for extortion and receipt of unlawful benefits in total amount of 8,000 UAH from a member of the Association of Afghanistan Veterans of Transcarpathian region for making a decision in favor of the plaintiff (member of the Association of Afghanistan Veterans of Transcarpathian region) for payment of compensation for the period from 2012 to 2017 as a member of the Association of Afghanistan Veterans of Transcarpathian region.
The detainees face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with the deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years, with confiscation of property and special confiscation.
Urgent investigation measures are being taken.
