Officers of the Chop border guard detachment, at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" on the Ukrainian-Slovak border, prevented the illegal importation of a car made in Japan into Ukraine.
The information on the possible illegal transaction was received by border guards in advance. On the arrival of the SUV "Toyota Landcruiser" (made in 2012) at border and customs control, on the initiative of "Green Berets", an in-depth review of the documents for the car and its full identification was conducted together with representatives of the Customs Office. As a result of these measures, border guards had suspicions about the power of attorney for operation of the vehicle which was registered in the Czech Republic. Law enforcement officers found out that the power of attorney and the registration document for the car were forged and were not issued in the said country.
As a result, the vehicle was confiscated according to the law. The preliminary amount of its assessment was more than 704,000 UAH.
