A hospital, the construction of which started 37 years ago, was opened in Tyachiv district (PHOTOS)

One of the longest lasting construcion projects in Transcarpathia – Uhlya District Hospital – was solemnly put into operation. The construction of the medical institution, so needed in this village in Tyachiv district, started back in 1981. Then, they built and cover with a roof a brick "box" which saved it from destruction. From the beginning of the 1980s until 2013, the construction work on the site was suspended four times due to lack of funds.

– Every new government over the last decade promised us to finish the construction, – Valeriy Feyer, Uhlya village head said at the opening of the hospital. – But it was done only now. In August 2016. 

Uhlya District Hospital will serve 16 thousand residents of four villages of Tyachiv district – Uhlya, Velyka Uhlya, Kolodne and Krychevo. The solemn opening, which became a notable event for the whole regions, was attended by Hennadiy Moskal, the head of the Tyachiv District State Administration Vasyl Demyanchuk, the chairman of the Tyachiv district council Ivan Fabritsiy, the director of the Department of Health of the RSA Volodymyr Markovych, local residents and guests of the village.

The district hospital has already received first patients from Uhlya and neighboring villages. To provide better treatment for them, the staff received gifts from the regional and district authorities – computer equipment, as well as gift certificates for manipulative and medical equipment.
