The incident happened in a shelter for homeless persons in the regional center of Transcarpathia.
Law enforcers arrested an Uzhgorod woman for inflicting intentional bodily harm in the state of intoxication. An investigation over this incident has started.
Yesterday, December 29, in the evening, Uzhgorod police received a report of serious bodily harm. The investigative group found out that the crime had occurred in the city shelter for homeless people.
Around 19.20, a conflict between two homeless persons arose in the shelter. During the quarrel, a 49-year-old woman with signs of alcohol intoxication stabbed a 44-year-old man in the chest.
The victim was taken to the city hospital where doctors diagnosed him with a penetrating chest wound on the left. The patient was admitted to the intensive care unit.
Investigation into the incident has been initiated, the preliminary legal classification is Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Intentional grave bodily harm). The woman was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and put in a temporary detention center, the communication department of the Transcarpathian regional police informed.
