A healthy forest was cut in Transcarpathia

The Rakhiv Department of the Tyachiv Local Prosecutor’s Office has registered criminal proceedings based on media reports about cutting of healthy forest for trade under the guise of sanitary felling in Yasinya forestry
The publication alleges gross violations of forest protection legislation in the specified forestry. In particular, they reported about the felling of healthy trees under the pretext of sanitary felling, felling outside logging area, damage to trees not marked for felling, etc.
Preliminary legal classification is under Part 1 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official position).
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of Rakhiv Police Department. The procedural control will be provided by the prosecutors of the Rakhiv Department of the Tyachiv Local Prosecutor’s Office.
