Last night, border guards of the Mukachevo Detachment in conjunction with the police, during the active phase of joint operation "Frontier-2016", on the outskirts of the village of Velyka Palad, detained a group of illegal migrants.
While checking the information from the border guard agency on the possible stay of illegal migrants in the border area, law enforcement officers detected as a group of unknown persons boarding a van "Opel Vivaro."
During further operational measures, the vehicle was detained. It addition to the driver, who was our compatriot, there were 11 people of non-Slavic appearance there. The foreigners had no documents on them. Later, border guards found out that among the detained 9 men and 2 women there were 2 citizen of India, 4 Pakistanis and 5 citizens from Sri Lanka.
Currently, the detainees have been taken to the border guard unit for preparation of procedural documents. In addition, the search for and identification of persons involved in the organization of the illegal migrant trafficking continues.
