"The box of jewels" – this is how they call the city of Eger – one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Hungary – the city of flowers and the famous red wine. Eger is a longtime friend of Vinogradiv, our sister city. All significant celebrations and festivals, conferences and other international events are reinforced by the Hungarian delegation visits to the city. The guests say that with every visit ancient Vinogradiv acquires European appearance. And they even decided to "borrow" something!
Since Eger is the center of the wine region: the most famous wine is "Bulls Blood", and the best of all is "Eger Girl", they liked our fountain with a charming girl who squeezes miracle juice of the grape with her shapely legs. They liked it so much that sculptor Mykhailo Kolodko, the author of Vynogradiv fountain, took up the project of building a fountain in Eger.
– We have twice traveled to Hungary – says the sculptor – to choose the location where the fountain will be mounted. I am very glad that in the old, European, Baroque town there will be a fountain similar to that in Vynogradiv. It will be identical – only the architectural composition will be a little different.
