Olena Trachuk, the spokeswoman for the Chop Border Guard Detachment, told about this. The foreigner was spotted by border guards near the village of Huta of Uzhgorod district on August 25. When he saw the border guards, he tried to escape. The detainee did not have any documents with him. However, he said he was a citizen of Bangladesh.
"It was established that the foreigner had reached Transcarpathia by public transport, having previously planned a route to Slovakia with his brother, who was in Bangladesh at the time. The detainee was taken to the border guard unit," – Trachuk added.
After identification and establishing the circumstances of the case, the foreigner will be prosecuted for attempting to illegally cross the state border. The case will be sent to court.
