Yesterday, at the customs post "Tisa", Transcarpathian customs officers prevented an attempt of tobacco products smuggling by a German citizen.
The citizen was driving a car "BMW" model "318 CI". The foreigner chose the "green corridor" for customs control. During oral survey, he said that he was not moving across the customs border of Ukraine any goods in amounts subject to a written declaration, hidden from customs control, subject to payment of tax or customs duties, or restrictions on transportation.
But employees of the customs decided to conduct a thorough customs inspection of the vehicle. During the inspection, they found 920 packs of tobacco products "LM" with excise stamps of Ukraine hidden from customs control.
The found tobacco products were hidden in a structural cavity – the compartment for the folding roof under the hood of the vehicle luggage compartment.
The value of the found tobacco products, according to the labels on the packs, is 14,720 UAH. The value of the car is 212,664 UAH. Thus, the citizen of Ukraine committed actions aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine using specially manufactured caches.
These actions have signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The report on violation of customs rules was drawn up, the vehicle and the cigarettes were seized.
