The head of the Customs Clearance Department of the customs post "Solotvyno" of the Transcarpathian Customs refused to take a bribe for unobstructed clearanace of a car.
A citizen of Moldova offered UAH 500 for an unobstructed clearance of a vehicle with foreign registration.
This fact was revealed by officers of the SFS in Transcarpathian region and the sector for prevention and detection of corruption of the Transcarpathian Customs during the implementation of the complex of joint preventive measures on the illegal import of cars with foreign registration.
At present, the investigator of the Tyachiv Department of the National Police in Transcarpathian region is considering the issue of opening a criminal proceeding under the preliminary classification of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Please note that proposal, promise or giving of unlawful benefit to an official is punishable by a fine of five hundred to seven hundred fifty non-taxable minimum incomes, or restraint of liberty for a term of two to four years, or imprisonment for the same term.
