A Ford “stuffed” with cigarettes was found at the customs post “Luzhanka”

This Saturday (July 18) on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, Transcarpathian customs officers confiscated from a resident of Mukachevo a car with almost 50 cartons of cigarettes hidden from customs control.

A 46-year-old woman from Mukachevo was driving her own car Ford to Hungary on private business. At the customs post "Luzhanka" of the Transcarpathian customs, the woman deliberately chose the "green corridor", thus declaring legitimate intentions to cross the border.

However, inspectors had doubts about the integrity of the citizen and together with border guards they conducted an in-depth inspection of the car. As a result, they found 469 packs of cigarettes hidden in structural cavities in the four doors of the car. A report on violation of customs rules under Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine was drawn up against the violator.

The 2009 car, with an estimated value of $ 7,000, and the cigarettes without excise stamps, worth almost 11,000 hryvnias, were seized pending a court decision.
