A film about a Transcarpathian Hungarian who participated in the ATO was made in Hungary (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Pre-premiere screening of the documentary film by the Hungarian film company ELF Pictures Kft. "Nine Months of War" (Kilenc honap haboru) (directed by Laszlo Csujo) took place in Budapest, the Mukachevo.net reported.

The film tells about a Ukrainian young of Hungarian descent who, during his service at the National Guard of Ukraine, was defending his homeland from Russian aggression in the East of Ukraine.

24-year-old Hungarian Joni (Janos Lelich) lives in a small town in Transcarpathia, which can be easily identified as Beregovo. He is the only child in the family, because his father died five years ago. He is very tired of a boring life in his hometown, but he really loves his mother. However, when he receives a call and a chance to join the National Guard, he decides to go 1500 kilometers away to the Eastern Front to fight the separatists.

Joni could have left the country to avoid military service just like his friends, but he decides otherwise. Why? He is not a patriot. He is not even a Ukrainian. The director of the film will try to answer these questions. In the documentary, he used a mobile phone footage filmed by a soldier from the Transcarpathian city of Beregovo Ivan "Gosha" Lelich during his service in the Ukrainian Army.

The film "Nine Months of War" is coming out in cinemas of Hungary from April 11, 2019.
